The Great Generation VS The generation Of Terrorism And Hate!

They charged into machine gun fire willingly and enthusiastically! As their brothers in Normandyfront of them were torn apart by the shower of Nazi bullets they ignored their screams of pain and anguish. Instead they picked up the rifles and ammo from their falling bodies before it got wet. They then ran on into the hail of burning lead knowing the call of the same destiny.

How could men do this? They had a vision, a commitment and most of all nothing else mattered more at that moment.  It was for a just and honorable cause, the lives of their wives, their families and all that American’s believed in, Freedom!

I have long wondered how humans could commit to such a destiny when they have known so much more?  Surely it was not everyone but in the rush to shore those not so willing to sacrifice their lives were dragged along in the current of screaming human flesh rushing to the call of death and destiny.  It was for a great cause, it was for an honorable cause, it was for a human cause, it was for God and Country!  No matter how good the goal (and I never question these great men)  it still spoke of one mysterious magic, something hard to define and explain, the willingness to die for something you believe in! I have always wondered, marveled and been thankful for these men, one of which was my father, whose uniform still hangs in my closet. He did not die in WWII, though he was a medic there on the bleeding grounds covered with bodies; however, he was brave and I am proud of him.

In contrast, just this week I was given a new understanding of how Islamic Terrorism arises and how in many ways it may grow from an energy similar to that which drove the men on Normandy Beach (note I am in no way comparing the soldiers on Normandy Beach to the evil vile nature of terrorists!  My only question is how men can willingly give up their lives for a cause.)  In the “news” we saw the Home.Terrorist.Republican.Shooterface of James T Hodgkinson, a homegrown American Terrorist.

Why do I label him a terrorist?  Is it not clear that he knew he would die just to kill a few dozen congressmen? Is it not clear that nothing else mattered more at that moment than killing these “evil” humans who had let him and his country down (at least in his mind)?  With this event in mind, I think that if we keep an open mind, we can see what makes for terrorists!

BugsBunny

If you don’t recall the atmosphere of  WWII America (and neither do I personally, I was not born yet), the historical records can make it more clear.

Just look at the Cartoons that were on every movie screen to get a quick idea of how immersed even the children of America were it the war for our very survival.

So I say Congratulations to the fake news media!  They have demonstrated the basic technique for turning a person into a killing machine with no regard for their own life. It appears to me that the magical recipe for home growing a terrorist is fake news,   24 hour a day media repeating and distorting every possible event in America to polarize those who forget they have the power to click the remote to OFF!   How about FaceBook?  Go on most anyone’s facebook page and you will find a mirror of their self deception.  As they block and unfriend the opinions they don’t like they begin to swim in a mirror of what they choose to believe.  When “news media” makes up any message for grim.reapermoney and audience, there is no longer any intent upon sharing the truth of world events and politics.  The goal is stirring a frenzy of news consumer emotions and depicting any conflicting news as fake news.  Now you have the recipe for home grown terrorists!  Make  the opposing viewpoint the “fake news”  while you are to be seen as the voice of freedom. Now you have a captive audience!  Forget about the truth, people don’t stay with you for the truth it is too boring and it requires too much thinking.  Feed the frenzy of self deception and make claim to your audience! There is no one to stop you it would seem. Who will die next before we put a stop to Fake News!

“Little evil would be done in the world if evil never could be done in the name of good.”

I love this above quote from Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, but I wonder what the real consequences might be of attempting to enact its words?   I say this because I wonder,  if her eloquent sounding statement actually has any “real meaning”  when we consider the possibly undefinable words it relies upon, “good and evil.”

If  the end of evil, in the name of good,  became a reality, would the basis for many of our best adventure stories vanish like fog in the morning sunrise?   In our most dramatic stories and plays, from ancient times onward, it is essentially the battle between good and evil that occupy center stage, despite the actor’s exuberant strutting and stammering.  Not to say there would not be enough to write about.  Just living, surviving, exploring, advancing society and technology, challenging the limits of our existence, reaching out to the beckoning call of the sea of space, to name just a few………..  would surely be enough to write about.  Just one type of “evil” would vanish, that being the actions of one being or group of beings, against another of opposing opinions or values.

This concept of  the “end of evil in the name of good”  makes me wonder  what is “evil?” How do we define “evil?”  We won’t touch this much right now as it has been debated for centuries and appears clearly unresolved to intellectual thinkers, though perhaps not so to religious ones!  Yet,  Marie, personally,  had no problem with expecting that evil could be defined by someone; If not, her quote makes no sense!

If we step away from living entities performing evil what else is evil?  Is there evil?  One enticing thought that comes from this discussion is can we define death as evil?  Perhaps it is unjust to call death an “evil”  after all, we don’t know what death is because we don’t know what comes after it (at least other than by faith), just before it.  However, this is a whole other subject and likely a floating away from the torrentouous  sea of thoughts that Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach’s words, seem to have set astorm.

But back to Marie. How many times can you look back on history and see that a war was fought in the name of “good,” but that good appears to have been very one sided?  Perhaps that means that one sided good is another name for “evil.”  In fact this appears to make a lot of sense, when you give it some grey cell time. Does that mean that whatever we do as a nation that we declare is “good” has to be seen by all as good to truly be good?

One of the salient issues of our era, at the moment, is Islamic terrorism. Islamic Terrorists claim that they are on the side of  good,  and those whom they are attacking are evil.  The peace-signWest, mostly Christian and Jewish, in its essential values, sees it the other way around (for the most part). We do not often deny that we have made some poor decisions in our effort to “rescue”  other nations from the villainous grips of tyrannical leaders. History is replete with good guys waging war on evil.  We hope history will see us as the good guys. Maybe Marie’s statement is nonfunctional because of its dependencies?  Should we consider perhaps that forceful actions taken in the name of “good” are the issue and not the definition of good? In that case, evil might not be done if warfare was not allowed!

If only we could agree to ban war as a method of “overcoming evil” can you imagine how we might resolve our differences?  We might even be able to throw out trying to define good and evil.  Martin Luther King, amongst other good company, championed the concept of war free conflict (non-violent protest in his case). It does produce results, even without a martyr. Unfortunately the rioting thugs (who like to be misidentified as Afro-Americans, don’t know enough about the great men like Martin Luther King).

Perhaps a potentially better statment (though longer)  than hers might be considered.

  • Little evil would be done in the world if evil never could be done in the name of good”  might become…
  • “little evil would be done in the world if warfare, of any sort,  was not permitted in an effort to replace perceived evil with perceived good.

Warfare is also not so easy to define.  Is economic warfare war?  Is political manipulation and destabilization of nations war?

If we could ban “warfare”  of most types, it could potentially make for a great story. However, considering that the “natural order of our universe” appears to be the  survival of all living creatures who are dependent upon a hierarchy of species dominance and a food chain, it strains credulity.

Somewhere in our universe I know this story is being played out.  Ah…but to witness it in person and learn its secrets!  My exploration of this issue and slowly upcoming story currently labeled “The Carrnegg”  is an attempt to visit this time and place…….  stick around.

A View To A Kill – Of Terrorism

Can One Of The World’s Great Religions Save Itself From Itself?  The Left in France still insists in pretending that it is the Muslim community that is the first victim of Islamic terrorism. And the government still refuses to End-Terrorism-Reclaim-Religion-from-Radical-Fundamentalistssee that at the core of the problem is radical Islam and the sympathy it receives among not only the Muslim population but the extreme Left. Not only the media but also academic circles proclaim that a small extremist Islamic minority is responsible for all acts of terrorism, which they believe are “against the values of Islam.”

At the same time, on the other side of the Mediterranean divide, the highest religious authorities of Islam know only too well that Islam, as it is taught in schools and universities throughout the Islamic world and especially at Al-Azhar University and major Saudi Arabian universities, is at the core of the problem, and they are trying to address it.

The Shari’a and its sources – Koran, Sunna and traditions based on the way of life of the disciples of the prophet Muhammad and his warriors – are the true basis of the attacks on the West, as they are the true basis of the actions of the self-proclaimed Islamic State.

There is an enormous amount of soul-searching among the greatest scholars of Islam, who are desperately trying to find a way to eliminate some of the most extreme texts in a curriculum which has remained unchanged for centuries.

To date, only one man has done something about it. President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi of Egypt has launched a comprehensive review of school texts to eradicate calls to jihad and to extremism, a move that France – whose motto is “Freedom, equality and fraternity” – would do well to ponder, if not to emulate.  ……………… read more………

Time To Get Real On Israel And The Mideast

ROCKETS DROPPED ON ISRAEL

This story appears in the August 18, 2014 issue of Forbes.

There are two things the U.S. should do about the widening war in Gaza.

First, stop the mindless calls for a cease-fire. Like Pavlovian dogs, Washington officials always push for a cessation of hostilities whenever violence flares between Israel and Palestinian forces. This is supposed to show “evenhandedness” and to set the stage for yet another “peace initiative.” Why can’t Washington face facts?

Hamas wanted this war. It had dissed all of its Mideast patrons. Isolated, it figured a big conflict would change the political calculus, refurbishing its credentials as a major force and pressuring other states to pony up more money. That’s why it summarily rejected Egyptian attempts to arrange a cease-fire–for which the Israelis were game, wanting to avoid, if possible, waging a bloody ground campaign in Gaza. But Hamas needed war. For Washington to treat both parties as morally equivalent is repugnant. Hamas is using civilians as human shields and murderous fodder for propaganda images, hence its attempts to prevent civilians from evacuating areas that Jerusalem has warned will be hit militarily.

The U.S. should remember that since Israel totally and unconditionally withdrew from Gaza in 2005 the territory has used the billions of dollars it’s received in foreign assistance not to build its economy but to wage war. Its system of tunnels through which it attacks Israel (and until a year ago received weaponry and supplies from Egypt) is elaborate. Its arsenal of rockets–and their sophistication–has expanded exponentially.

The FAA decision to ban (for a day and a half) U.S. commercial flights to Israel, where tourism is a big part of the economy, handed Hamas its first political victory. Under the circumstances, a now physically isolated Israel must totally destroy Hamas’ military capabilities: no more tunnels, no more caches of rockets. To do less would only make Jerusalem’s increasingly dangerous security situation worse. John Kerry should pack his bags and stay away from the region, and President Obama should cease indulging his anti-Israeli predilections and let Jerusalem do what has to be done.

What’s behind the ongoing violence in Gaza – And NPR Drug Pushers

Israeli’s take cover as Hamas Launches missiles into Israel.

The differences between Hamas and Israel are so profound, it’s almost as though the two aren’t living in the same century.

The Hamas war against Israel pits cheap rockets — basically the 21st-century version of an exploding cannonball — against a high-tech military so sophisticated, it can send harmless “door-knocking” bombs to land on the roofs of buildings to warn its targets inside that the next live bomb will level the place.

One side is monstrous but hapless: Hamas is looking to create mass terror through the deliberate targeting of enemy civilians, has fired 500 rockets, and has killed exactly one Israeli.

NPR DRUG PUSHERS – PUSH FOR HAMAS TERRORISM:  It blows my mind when I listen to National Public  Radio (NPR)  and hear descriptions of the war.  They focus visually on the injury’s to Palestinian Children over and over while being somewhat neutral otherwise.  This technique is used by Drug Companies to sell you on dangerous drugs while telling you how deadly theyHamas_Children_1594729i truly are!

It is used by National Public Radio,  in my opinion,  to make you feel empathy for the Palestinians with images that take your focus of  the fact that these injured children are PLACED IN HARMS WAY  by Palestinian parents  just for this purpose! Don’t fall for the game that drug pushers play.  Listen to the descriptions of the suffering and killing of Palestinian children (not that they are not being killed) and notice that they were put there by Palestinians who place their children in harms way for news fodder! Note that Israel even warns Palestinians of coming attacks on Hamas strongholds and missile launching sites so that the civilians who live there can leave and not be harmed.  What nation defending its citizens to to such an extreme to NOT injure children and civilians?  None other on Earth!  When you hear NPR whispering images into your head, nataional pathetic radiojust as the drug companies do with pictures on TV, don’t let them manipulate you.   Don’t buy the bullshit!

Why Monsanto Is Nearsighted And Dangerous!

We have long known that  there are 10 times more bacterial cells in our body than our own cells making up our bodies. This is because what we call “our” cells creates a healthy supportive environment for the “good” bacteria and these bacteria create nutrition by helping digest our food and protect our bodies form dangerous invaders.  The Very Faulted Model that uses antibiotics to kill off bacteria has long been known to be wrong!  For example:  using antibiotics to stop a minor infection destroys you gut bacteria and causes you to feel weak run down and even depressed.  Cleaning your bodies with too much anti-biohazardbacterial soap,  exposes you to dangerous infections!  We are just beginning to understand how important bacteria are to our bodies!  Recent findings show that the “right” bacteria in your body can help you think better and avoid serious depression and anxiety!  We know, for example, that naturally bacterial fermented vegetables (Natural Pickles such as Bubbies Pickles) can give you hundreds of times the bacteria you need compared to a single probiotic pill.  For centuries people have washed off veggies to remove lose dirt and then packed them in salt water, so that they would ferment and become pickled by the natural balance of bacteria that lives in the Earth!

Monsanto is out to create new plants and animals that last longer on the supermarket shelf, grow bigger faster and have build in chemicals that kill or repel insects, bacteria and other micro-organisms.  The obvious problem here is that the reason these “things”  they will create last longer is that they disrupt the harmony of life between micro-organisms and macro organisms, like us!

If you are concerned about the environment and the possibility that too much industrial pollution and water pollution can destroy our environment,  imagine what will happen to YOUR inner environment when the plants you consume cause the bacteria in you gut and the Earth to die out or mutate to new forms for their survival?  YOU MAY NOT SURVIVE!

Monsanto has envisioned good things that could come out of GMO plants and animals.  There is this possibility but if this is there real goal then the right way to achieve it is by proving it in testing labs on test animals in test environments.  Instead,  they have used political clout and PAC money from other big Agriculture factory farms to block the labeling of food as GMO,  as they are required to do in Europe!  Instead of research in labs that protect our environment they are getting mothers to feed their children untested potentially dangerous GMO foods by not allowing them to know what they are buying!  Yes, you mothers are unwittingly using your children as lab animals for Monsanto’s research!

This is both nearsighted and dangerous!  Monsanto is not the “Company Of The Year”  that FORBES magazine rated them a few years ago, but instead possibly the next environmental disaster to befall to all of humanity.  They have the potential to be worse than the Black Plague, unless they are stopped!

Monsanto has blocked you access to information labeling foods as GMO but for now you can find and avoid some.  Read this for a guideline.

Why al-Qaeda finds no recruits in India

Here is an interesting report about the impoverished Muslims in India who, for the most part, do not support terrorism. Why is that? The article claims that meS0K1obecause they are Sufi and integrated into India’s culture they resist Al-Qaeda. This has been so despite the pogroms from Hindu extremists and recent divisions of communities on religious boundaries. It is an interesting concept to believe that Mulims who by all accounts are unable to share freedom of religion with others might not be totally frozen in a mold of intolerance. I do however recall the recent Mumbai killing of a rabbi and his family, which was very much an act of Islamic terrorism, so I am not sold on this author’s conclusions but hopeful for the future. Read this interesting article below. Why al-Qaeda finds no recruits in India – http://pulse.me/s/fYJh0
