Your skin is not the boundary of your body, there is none!

Scientists have discovered that the bacteria in your gut is similar all across the world much like blood types – I have a different take on this!

Dr Peer Bork found what he calls 3 EnteroTypes by sequencing the gut bacterial DNA.  These  bacteria help with digestion, absorption of nutrition and even help manufacture vitamins we need to stay alive.  In essence, the types of bacteria that live in our gut vastly affect our naked-459711_640health.  It makes me wonder if our naked skin really defines the borders of our bodies as it does for many of us viewing the picture on the right.

Many of us who are focused on holistic health care,  have paid attention to this ill defined body boundary as we use probiotics to heal illness and damage done by Antibiotics.   In fact a holistic alternative approach to treating food poisoning is huge doses of probiotics (gut bacteria) to crowd out the “bad” ones in the spoiled food that are now in our gut. The “bad” ones then cannot grow and are eliminated.

Note too,  that there are an estimated  100 trillion microbes in our gut, and yet our body is made up of about 10 trillion cells.  In other words we have 10 times more microbes in our bodies than “our supposedly own body cells!”

Here is something I want you to think about!  If we have more “bacterial” cells in our body then “body cells,”  which is our real body?    Now don’t decide to quickly!  We tend to  define our body by what we view as our physically attached cells that work as organs and as a team with the rest of our bodies structures.  Guess what,  the gut bacteria are physically attached to us and they work as part of the team.  Yes, they can live outside our bodies if the environment is right but, So What!  Heart cells transplanted to a petri dish with the right nutrients can continue beating for years. It has been done.

The next time you take an antibiotic casually to “help” kill of a persistent cold,  keep in mind that you are destroying the cells of  your body that make up your gut!  The truth about reality is that it must constantly be re-defined based upon the growth of human knowledge and anatomy gut bacteriaunderstanding.  Never,  Never,  Never think of the boundaries of your body as the skin over your bones.  If you do,  you may carelessly poison your body and ruin your life and that of your loved ones.  We are one with the world in more than the mystical sense shared by the “Hippy Drama” of the 1960’s or the “Tree Huggers” of the 21st century.    Think Big,  Never Believe That Anything Is A Proven Fact, Always Question, Always Grow… just as you did when you were 6 years old.

Consider a new approach to staying healthy, consume more bacteria rather than less…..   Just make sure it is the right type!

Dutch Researcher Created A Super-Influenza Virus With The Potential To Kill Millions

Virus research and the new tools of science allow the creation of the equivalent of Pandora’s Box. Once we release new life forms into the environment it is forever! Is this good or bad?

pandoras_box-google-for-reuse

  • We put up fences and got rustlers.
  • We created banks and got bank robbers.
  • We created computers networks and got computer viruses.
  • We created genetic manipulation and we could  get new killer bugs.

The question is should we as a world full of people allow any corporation or nation to modify living organisms that can never be removed from our environment, as in Pandora’s Box?  Can we even stop this if we wanted to?  One argument for genetic manipulation is that  knowing what can be done by allowing it,  we can be prepared.  Another argument to consider  the question “do the people who make the anti-virus for out computers help make the virus?”  Surely evil people will realized that if they create the disaster they can sell you disaster insurance,  the Mafia is living proof.

Brainless Slime Molds Learn & Teach!

tanyalattyDr Tanya Latty, PhD, insect ecology at the University of Calgary said: “I think we’re beginning to realize that brains are not prerequisites for complex and interesting behavior. The majority of life-forms on Earth are brainless, but we know very little about how this brainless majority are able to adapt their behavior in changing environments.

This discovery comes in a study published last week in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B. Scientists at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in France taught some 2,000 slime molds to avoid nasty-tasting substances (nasty to slime molds) while searching for food — and found that the molds could then transmit this behavior to their compatriots simply by fusing with them. In essence, when the slime mold learned to cross a bridge to a petri dish full of food it liked they then put repellant chemicals on the bridge and the slime_mold_on_deadwood-google-reuse-permitslime mold learned  to ignore these repellents to seek food.  It did so by carefully testing the bridge with a fine tentacle of slime as a scouting party.  When the tentacle could cross, eat and return,  the whole blob knew it was safe to do the same and did so.  It did so faster and faster as it established the safety of the crossing.  Even more astounding was that the learned slime mold was able to teach this to new slime molds in came in physical contact with.

In my story character,  Janr Ssor’s,  sci-fi adventures, he discovers that his experience of the universe does not often depend upon the physical structures we commonly associate with our world.  He frequently discovers communications we do not experience but more and more are learning to recognize as in this article on slime molds or my essay, “Is Intelligence In Your Brain? Or Are Scientists Stupid?”, which finds this behaviour in almost equally brainless tiny insects.

Science is fascinating in its ongoing  attempts to discover new concepts of truth and reality. The longer I live the more convinced I am that there is less and less difference between scientific proof and theory.  This is not to say that we can not “prove” a theory by methods. smartphone-image-truth It is just puzzling what we are proving? Is it all of reality or just a convenient fragment that suits our needs much as the slime molds discover did its?  Sometimes I wonder, are we the image outside or inside the cell phone? Can we really know?

It would be illogical to deny the success of science when you see a spaceship, whose design is based on millions of years or learning scientific “proven rules”  successfully launch a satellite into orbit. On the other hand, it is one thing to have ultimate knowledge and another to grasp just enough to get through the day.  I believe we are at the latter point in our evolution but often sensing the light of a bigger tomorrow through the one thing science truly tries to teach well, “keep the window to learning open and know that we have no ultimate truths.”  Enjoy the trip, the destination is not our purpose.

The Heart – Do Words Give Creation Meaning?

jfkWhen you wake up and find the world just below discernibly different and it stays that way, how did this happen?

You almost feel as if you are in a dream about to awaken but you do not awake because you are awake!

Consider a more clearly shocking change that no one missed. This was the day the headlines read JFK Killed by Assassin!  This was not just below discernibly different, this was dramatic and indubitable.

This forever changed my world and that of my countrymen. Its story, 50 years later, is still news and never resolved.

Now imagine that a world changing event has occurred but at a less dramatically visible level; one just below discernibly different. One such event took place a day ago and it reminded me of the clear limits of human knowledge, and why as a doctor I do not trust doctors to be 100% on anything.

This event was an article written by a respected man of science, Dr Thomas Cowan, who fire-heart-961194_960_720-pixabaysaid simply that the human heart is not a pump that circulates  about 5 liters of blood throughout the body every minute, as we are taught!

How can this be? Every school child knows this and has been taught this for nearly 300 years!  In 1513 Leonardo Da Vinci dissected over 30 human corpses and discovered the circulatory system.  Later William Harvey, in 1616, discovered what he believed was proof that the heart pumps blood around the entire body. Men of science have accepted this for centuries!  Now there is a respectable different opinion.

The Problem With Viewing the Heart as a Pump:  (from Dr Joseph Mercola) Cardiologists and doctors in general are taught that the walls of the heart create pressure, which causes propulsion of the blood through the body. In essence, the heart is viewed as a pump — a pressure propulsion system caused by the muscular contraction of the ventricles.

However, your body actually contains an enormous amount of blood vessels. Most of the blood vessels in your heart and body are capillaries, which are very thin-walled, very narrow tubes.  If you were to spread these blood vessels out, they would cover three football fields. If you were to place the blood vessels end to end, in a series, they would encircle the Earth between one and three times.

The pump theory is then telling us that you have a 1 pound muscle, and it’s going to pump blood a distance equivalent to going around the Earth every single day for 70 years; 60 to 70 times a minute.  Is that believable? Not according to Dr Thomas Cowen in his book “Human Heart, Cosmic Heart: A Doctor’s Quest to Understand, Treat, and Prevent Cardiovascular Disease.”

What is the truth and is there any that we do not keep changing and refining?  Do our words describe creation or create its meaning?

Could Dr Cowan be wrong?  My Thoughts…..  If you take the heart’s arterial outflow and capillary_system_cert-google-labledfor-reusedisperse it to millions of capillaries the width of a blood cell the flow becomes very slow at that level as the ENERGY output is divided by millions of bifurcations.  If you now reverse that process and merge the capillaries into a larger return vein, the ENERGY is compounded back to its original level.   As for a single blood cell traveling around the Earth, the trip for each cell is done in PARALLEL not in series!  Just as a computer with multiple processors can process much faster than a single one,  so can the distance covered be much greater when run by a billion horses (or red blood cells).  I think that Dr Cowan’s reasoning appears to me fallacious.  I don’t doubt that he is on to something we have missed but Davinci and Harvey are not really wrong, entirely.  Maybe the world did shift on a just below discernibly different level

A Writing Experiment – no dialogue

NO DIALOGUE: The text below is the beginning of a sci-fi  D-trip journey as used in my many fiction stories.  I have wondered how it would seem if the hero’s in my stories were at first dumbfounded by the shift from Earth into the D-Dimension.  Here is a fun experiment aimed at taking  you there with them, but without their saying a single word of dialogue:

janrs-LogoWe arrive rather suddenly and were instantly both fully immersed in the D-dimension (immersed being way to mild a word in retrospect).  It seemed so intense and palpable that imagining the physical world we had just left, was most difficult. I tried to picture my lab which we had just left seconds ago, but found it nearly futile as the D-Dimension stimulated all my senses at once. The overload of images and sensation in my mind  made me recall years earlier sharing a writing room (a study) with my wife. I recalled  trying to read a complex story on my computer screen as my wife’s computer frequently and randomly burst into noisy distraction that popup commercial videos created. Back then  concentration on my reading was shattered by the intentional distraction of commercial intrusion.  The D-Dimension, though in no way intentionally disruptive,  was so captivating and full of random pulses of energetic change that trying to picture my physical world was interrupted by its strange but overpowering sensations and magnificence.  The “real” world had faded  out and the D-Dimension faded in with a whisper rapidlly became a roar as we arrive above the Earth in outer space wearing nothing but our skin and no protection from the vacuum I knew could kill us in seconds.

Just looking down on the Earth below was breathtaking; but, my first instinctive reaction upon arrival was to sense that I had fallen off a cliff and was tumbling downward at unaccountable speed!  Of course  that was just because the massive Planet Earth, filling 40 percent of my view below, was alive with motion and spin and I lay floating in space upon nothing but vacuum. I recalled the pilots saying, “we fly by the seats of our pants for security.”   Now I knew what that meant!

The huge blue globe beneath my feet turned slowly while clouds above covered its drifting continents like the magical veils used by Oriental dancers. Sunlight sparkled and pranced on and off the floating cloud banks setting them on fire or just burning their edges; but, this was just the most normal appearance of the D-Dimension.  The hypnotic beauty of this splendor was accentuated by my awareness of the nakedness, of my body lying in empty space, suspended on buffeting winds of gravitational force from the Earth, the Moon and the Sun. All that seemed to lift me above the Earth like a Hawk sailing effortlessly in the morning winds of the south Florida dawn. On the other hand the Hawk was in control and I had no idea how to respond to these waves of non-physical interaction. Fortunately they tossed me around as gently as a feather in a mild breeze and I discovered that I could balance myself against them by just thinking it so.  Yes I could feel space rise and fall as it turned and twisted in the gravitational well of the Earth. Why not?  I had no mass.

Occasionally I would find myself not breathing because of unreasonable and unconscious fear.  It took a while to register that no  space suit was needed, despite my instinctive expectation of having all air sucked from my lungs by the black vacuum around me.  I had to remind myself that I was only there in the form of energy,  within a universe of energy and nothing could suck the air from my lungs as there was nothing physical in me or in space.

From behind me however, the Sun at my back felt like a pelting rainstorm on a hot sunny day. It reminded me of storms we used to call sun showers.  I could feel the constant beat of every form of energy radiation the sun could emit pulsing and hammering as it collided with and past through my ghostly form and then on to interact with that radiation emitted by the Earth.  Each ray had a distinct taste, smell and texture that so overwhelmed the senses that for moments the Earth below vanished as my mind was drawn to  focus upon just what the Sun was saying to me. It spoke in a foreign language seemingly accentuated with ferocious intent and multisensory tongues. X-rays and Gamma rays  stung and burned like bee stings, until you acclimated to their roar. They came in loud bursts like waves beating the sand on a stormy day but much faster. Sometimes they soared up the scale of intensity and sounded like thunder claps or a jet breaking the sound barrier.  Paradoxically some of the radiation had texture and flavor, some quite intense.  Burst of them reminded me of the orange flavoring  used by my grandmother to make cod liver oil more palatable but served on a spoon that seemed to rust between dosages.  Then there was the eerie smell of mustard and hot dogs.  I have to say it made me salivate somewhere where I actually had a tongue and mouth.  But here I was not sure what it was other than my mind trying to synchronize my senses with energy that it had never experienced before.  I remembered suddenly watching my very young daughter trying to touch the rings of a clown suspended above her in the play pen.  She tried for two weeks off and on to get those chubby little arms and  pudgy fingers to grab the clown’s ring like feet. When she finally succeeded, it was the first time in her life she ever laughed!  Like her, my mind was trying to make sense out of what  I was in touch with but not yet understanding.

When I turned and gazed at the Sun, I could see rings of multicolored energy exploding from its surface in waves of vastly varying frequency.  The dark pulses were gravitation, the distortion of space-time.  Pulses of  solar gravitational fluctuation as they arrived however felt like sitting in front of a base speaker at an old rock concert. My whole body reacted to this sound as if being hit by an unseen wind gust; however,   the deep bass note had its own unique sound and one so deep I could not relate it fully to hearing.

All in all, and somewhat perplexing, the bath of energy made the empty space somewhat less disorienting. I thought this might be because after awhile this energy substance allowed me to feel suspended in something more secure than falling down an elevator shaft as first impressions on arrival above the Earth created.  Like a hot bath that at first stung, little by little the environment was feeling more lukewarm  and more like a friend than an enemy.  I wondered if this was what birth felt like to a neonatal human whose mind was way too developed?

Nassim Haramein: Sacred Geometry And Unified Fields

64 grid tetrahedronHave you ever stopped to think, “what the world might look like if the fundamental foundations of physics were wrong!” How would you view your world tomorrow?  What if the story of “2001 a Space Odyssey” based on obelisks left to teach us about the universe were real?  Well, Nassim Haramein, a radical physicist believes all of this and if you watch his YouTube videos, you just might think so too!  After all, today’s science fiction is tomorrows future.  Reality always is better than Sci-fi because when you are part of it, you don’t have to imagine you are!  Watch Nassim Haamein below and see what you think!

Nassim Haramein – A New World View

I have been occasionally following Nassim Haramein over the last 3 or 4 years, as time allows. His view of our universe based on theoretical physics and mathematics is world changing!  As in the times when the Catholic Church banned Galileao’s work, today’s church of physics, denies him a presence at their greatest sources of communication. Yet his work goes on and expands the reach of human knowledge and understanding. In this interview you will get a sense of what his physics is teach us. It is also very much the basis of many of my sci-fi stories.  However, I did not arrive at my conclusions as he did from physics or mathematics but as he also did by turning inward to discover that not clouded by the religion of the church of science.

Can We Trust Monsanto with Our Food?: Scientific American

Scientific American has been my favorite publication ever since I was a kid.  Now, to my disappointment,  I must write this publication off my list of respected sources due to the article named in the title above. The article which is available in the hyperlink below, from Scientific American, has the strong smell of scientific bull shit; here is why:   Like any “good politician”  this article which claims to reply to your concerns,  answers the wrong question!  In other words,  it is a clear lie.  The question is not weather this elitist intellectual scientist  is right about GMO food being safe; the question is do you have the right  to choose by food labeling! This author answered the first question not the second and even the answer to the first if full of holes as you can learn from GMO Myths & Truths linked on the right –>

It is unlikely that GMO food is safe, as hundreds of articles have pointed at reasons for concern!  Some important issues are the destruction of normal soil bacteria by plants secreting chemo-toxins (they were modified to create) that now damage the soils health as a food for plants!  Another is the sudden die out of bees from colony collapse disorder which may turn out to be a byproduct of GMO foods as many suspect.  Even if all these are wrong,  NO ONE HAS A RIGHT TO EXPERIMENT ON YOUR FAMILY WITH GMO FOODS, and not tell you!  That is the issue.  Monsanto is fighting with billions of dollars of corporate money to have our government BAN the labeling of food as GMO so you won’t know!

My Favorite Author

My favorite author is Issac Asimov. I love his character R. Daneel Olivaw as in the Robot and Foundation series: The Caves of robotSteel, The Naked Sun, Robots and Empire, Prelude to Foundation, Foundation and Earth. Is seems to me that Asimov created a new world, lived in it and shared his experiences with us.

I am a relatively new author of sci-fi but I can identify with, what I believe, Asimov did to write his books. Which is live in the world of your writing and see what transpires.

Don’t know if you ever noticed the talented kids in your middle school class who were drawing all kinds of great sketches while the teacher’s monotonous voice droned on and on. Though you may have when the teacher ripped up their art and embarrassed them in public. These are the people who create great stories and art.

Orson Scott Card, created some of his best fiction by doodling and creating a symbolic world,  that just had to be lived in. Then he found characters that knew how to  live there. Whether he was one of them I am not sure, but he surely reported back to us on their lives.

Like the doodlers, I have frequently lived in another world and for me it often happens at 2:00 a.m.  When I awake,  I get a great idea and write it down for the time the sun comes up. The funny thing,  for me,  is I find my books write themselves in this way. Once I draw the landscape, as Orson Scott Card did, but in my mind alone, inhabitants, who I now know well, come and live in it.  They act on their strengths and weakness to live their soon to be revealed lives.

As odd as this may sound, I can then read my story when it is finished and it is almost as if I had never written it. I end up being a big fan of my stories. What I am waiting for is to like mine better than Asimov’s.
