The Taking Of America 1 2 3

We have all heard a story that begins like this: “When they came for the Jews, I stood silent, When they came for the Gypsy’s, I said nothing, Now their coming for me; who will stand up for me?”

In very few words this historical reminder of Germany’s greatest failure, reminds us of a similar experience and one of the reasons our founding fathers formed America. Our nation was to be a cohesive nation made strong, not weak, by our differences! We would respect the minorities and treat them as equals. We chose to do this for selfish reasons as well as idealistic ones. One of these selfish being our own protection, as the German story reminds us. Of course we, in our great experiment with democracy, have learned of many more reasons to be diverse.

In the poem, “I hear America Singing,” by Walt Whitman, we discover some of the magic that professional diversity affords us. Each industrious worker is seen doing his job. As Americans we should remember the different nations that joined us each bringing their unique skill. This is the key to our longevity and what has made us greater than any other nation on Earth!

Since I was a little kid, I heard stories of the Mohawks who helped build skyscrapers. In 1886, a Canadian company, building a bridge over the St. Lawrence river discovered the Mohawk’s fearless nature, when they hired them to help build the bridge. The Mohawks climbed steel like it was second nature. When a span collapsed killing 30 of their tribesmen, they came in greater numbers seeing it as a challenge not a failure.

About half of the 19th century Italian immigrants were laborers, compared to 1/3 of the Irish and Germans. Contracted out by professional labor brokers known as “Padrones” they dug tunnels, built bridges, laid tracks and helped build skyscrapers. In Chicago over 90% of the steel workers were Italians.

Each nation brought its skills and the blessings of its unique gene pool and culture. The Jews became lawyers, doctors and business owners. The Irish made our cities safe as, policemen, firemen and other city workers. The list goes on and on…

But back to the story of “When they came for the Jews…” President Eisenhower warned us to beware of the “Military Industrial Complex.” He was warning us of the dangerous political influence that corporate America had discovered was within its grasp. He was warning us that we needed to stay true to our principles by keeping the values of our founding fathers, our Judeo-Christian values.

Now nearly a quarter of a century back, corporate America was noting that it could not balance its books, when it kept its contractual obligations to its employees. For example, GM had promised to be the healthcare “god” to its workers and this expenditure was now causing them to pass along too much of this financial burden to car buyers. Many corporations were guilty of this as well, as in promising retirement plans they could not afford later. Our Government was one of the very worst of those in promising both to its employees and then passing along this unearned expense to taxpayers.

In the Clinton era, an unholy alliance was forming. Corporate money for elections, if you take the burden off the corporate books and put it on the taxpayers! Hillary could now smell election victory as the first female president; all she needed was healthcare reform.

Government should be about doing the right thing for the people but, it has become about getting re-elected and serving whatever master has the most money. This it turns out, is the corporate alliance that Ike warned us about. As a result, the medical profession, then made of loosely knit organizations of individual entrepreneurs became their target. The real issues of health care reform and efficiency were never tackled because it dealt with death and dying. Death and dying means dealing with religious values as well as philosophical ones, which are hard to face and too easy to skirt. A huge majority of healthcare expenses comes from what we call “heroic” efforts to keep the sick, dying, very old alive. This effort often ends in their suffering a degrading death at the hands of too many technicians and doctors. Witness to this is in the form of the ever growing number of Living Wills, Do Not Resuscitate Agreements and Health Care Proxys.

The doctors of America were the ideal target for corporate savings; they were small business owners and had no unions to defend them.. Over the next quarter century doctors were then bled into bankruptcy. As a result, individual doctors, practicing privately, are now a rarity. Doctor’s incomes have dropped so significantly, thanks to corporate run managed care, that the majority of doctors are part time mom’s or foreigners from impoverished nations such as India (not to say the Indians are not excellent doctors).

In every song we need a refrain that repeats, so here it comes again. “When they came for the Jews…” Are you beginning to see that pattern of history?

The corporations next discovered that they could make more money if they hired foreigners from third world nations and yet still claimed to be American companies. They claimed to be American companies to keep all the benefits of your paying for their defense with your life should they be threatened. Of course your life would not matter as they fired you and hired the workers overseas. Oh yes, they would bribe you with the short sighted benefit of low cost Chinese products,  until your bank account ran out. Soon you and your neighbors lost their jobs and were forced into low paying service jobs at Home Depot or Walmart to sell the foreign products that were putting you out of work.

More recently the government has decided that the taxpayers should pay for corporate failures by being obligated to pay for corporate financial losses and fraud.

Lets try the refrain again with a little update, “When they came for the Doctors, I stood silent, When they came for the blue collar workers, I said nothing, Now they are coming for me; who will stand up for me?”

When you laugh at the disorganized rag tag protestors of “Wall Street.” Remember you are part of America and their concerns are in many ways yours. If you are an aging Hippy or a proud Viet Nam era vet note that you are not dead yet. America is not dead yet. America gains its power from diversity not homogeneity. Before they take America, take it back! Overcome the illusions of disagreement and remember that we are all in this together and for Each Other. Corporations and Governments are soul-less institutions that have taken over the rights of God’s children.  Trump promised to bring business back to America to employ Americans and he promised to keep the influence of government for the people, by the people and of the people (not corporate bribes to congressmen).  Let’s see that Trump keeps his promises and not let the media divide Americans.

I believe our founding fathers would organize against the corporatocracy that has taken over America, what about you?  Hold Trump to his promises and stay united for all.

Ubuntu – A Computer Operating System / An Approach To World Peace!

What is Ubuntu?

Ubuntu is a free computer operating system and a philosophy of human kindness and cooperation.  It has produced a miracle in both areas that is worth understanding.   It has the potential to help establish world peace as a model for human cooperation.  Read this article and learn why!

Ubuntu as a Free Computer operating system (OS):   Only 40 paid programmers work for Canonical Ltd., which is responsible for coordinating thousands  of volunteer programmers and developers from around the world who create and maintain Ubuntu.  Ubuntu is an operating system, like windows, but many consider it far better.  Unlike Windows it is Free and most of the software you would ever need to install on it is Also Free!  For 99% of my work, I have not used windows in years; I use Ubuntu!  Just like your smartphone can download thousands of free apps for Ubuntu. Consider a few that I use that are totally free (but the equivalent for windows might cost thousands of dollars):

  • Audacity – a full music / sound recording editing studio on your desktop
  • GIMP – An image manipulation program that lets you create and modify pictures like Photoshop
  • Browsers: Chrome, Opera or FireFox and many others
  • Libreoffice – An office suite much like Microsoft Office but completely free
  • Rhythmbox – an excellent music organizer and player
  • BackUps –  With BackUps you can copy your current computer’s music, images, programs and settings and in Re-Create it on ANY NEW COMPUTER effortlessly!
  • Here are six things that Ubuntu does better than windows

How is it possible that thousands of brilliant programmers worldwide donate their time, skills and knowledge for free for you?

Ubuntu is sponsored by the UK-based company Canonical Ltd., owned by South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth. Canonical generates revenue by selling technical support and services related to Ubuntu, while the operating system itself is entirely free of charge. The Ubuntu project is entirely committed to the principles of free software development; people are encouraged to use free software, improve it, and pass it on (its code is available so anyone can modify and improve it and share it anew)!   In other words,  other than a small financially self sustaining leadership group, Canonical,  Ubuntu is a miracle of human cooperation by thousands of gifted people across the world who work as a team to improve the quality of human life for all of us!

Pictured here to the right of this text  is some of the team at a gathering for volunteer developers.

Ubuntu as a way of life — Archbishop Desmond Tutu offered a definition of Ubuntu in a 1999 book:  A person with Ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, based from a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed.

Tutu further explained Ubuntu in 2008:

One of the sayings in our country is Ubuntu is the essence of being human. Ubuntu speaks particularly about the fact that you can’t exist as a human being in isolation. It speaks about our interconnectedness. You can’t be human all by yourself, and when you have this quality – Ubuntu – you are known for your generosity. We think of ourselves far too frequently as just individuals, separated from one another, whereas you are connected and what you do affects the whole World. When you do well, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity. The philosophy of Ubuntu has influenced many world wide.  For example: The Peace Project,   The Peace Education Project and there is more to come.

Human Cooperation

As human beings, the Judeo-Christian bible reminds us that we struggle with two forces.  One is the physical desire to selfishly seek wealth and power that does not create value for society (such as might come from rebuilding a city or creating jobs) while the other side is the more spiritual side that recognizes the Creator’s plan for all of humanity to live in harmony and peace.   From the Judeo-Christian viewpoint we recognize Abraham as the near “perfect man” who taught us how to live in harmony by example of the way he lived.  Ubuntu like Abraham, does not deny the accumulation of wealth and power as long as it is used for the betterment of all.  Could we ever achieve that goal?  The stories of Ubuntu, as shared above, hint at this possibility.
It is always difficult to educate people while keeping them awake. Years of college has attuned me timelesssearchto identifying people who are sitting upright in chairs with open eyes and still in deep sleep.

It is far better to entertain, as Walt Disney said, with the hopes of educating then to educate with the hope of entertaining.  Much of my Sci-fi,  Sci-fantasy writings deal with questions of the potential for people living by the principles of Ubuntu. I explore, through adventure and imagination, what could happen if we learn to live in harmony (Ubuntu) and if not. I am constantly reminded as I write of the potential for human harmony as all my writing, research, social communication etc is done with the reliable results of the people who believe in Ubuntu, on an Ubuntu powered computer.

Alternative Realities That Share A Consensus!

When I was about 15 years old and living in Miami Fla, I was in the center of the Hippy Era.  We wanted you to “blow your mind”  and expand your thinking.  I chose to do this without drugs and here is a highly entertaining opportunity to do so legally :-), by watching Nassim Haramein!   Here is why I hope you do so:

When I was very little, about 5 years of age, I did not have imaginary “friends” as some did, but I did have “visitors”  that wanted to know about my world.  When they looked at my world, I got a vague glimpse of their world.  It is long ago and I have forgotten most of what I sensed.  Sometimes it was so strange as to be nonsensical or it seemed I did not have the sensory apparatus and experience to comprehend it.  As you get older, people tell you that if you have imaginary friends you are “crazy” or donna the butlers wifethey tell you it is time to grow up and stop living in imagination.  Like most of us I chose to conform and did so.  However,  every now and then the dimensions of space/time that I was denying,  to become more  acceptable to my peers,  decided to come and interrupt my “sanity.”  Oddly enough in many cases it provided information that I need.  Information that then  made my life much better and information that was simply not otherwise available. Sometimes it did nothing and was just a vague brief experience of another consciousness.

Many years, degrees, honors and human interactions later,  despite my total disbelief in many of  the fundamental principles of physics, theology and philosophy, I have managed to be a functional part of what I view as a society based on misinformation. Misinformation?  When you teach we are all one and God is withing and then kill our neighbor for praying differently, you have to admit there is something wrong!  Anyway,  to my delight, I have finally found a physicist who, like me, believes the fundamental structure of physics and the theological and philosophical underpinnings of our thinking is based on erroneous assumptions.  I have been delighted!  I have found someone who sees the world as I do and even better is using mathematics and physics to prove it.  Nassim Haramein is a one many revolution traveling around the world speaking and sharing his world changing viewpoint of reality with a goal of building a consensus amongst people whose minds are not to bogged down in education dove_peace-5555pxto be open to changes in fundamental thinking!   What is the value?  Well consensus driven by enough people can bring about change through the unity of all of us, that Nassim Haramein is proving on a daily basis.  When we all understand that we are really one as the greatest minds in history taught, then there will be no value or meaning in killing your neighbor because he prays differently. There will be no sense to terrorism by martyrdom and vests of bombs.  We will know that a rocket exploding on your home does not open the Gates Of Heaven for 10 martyrs to ascend.  We will have a chance for real peace on Earth and transcendence for humanity.

I encourage you to watch this Excellent series of 6 lectures by Nassim Haramein in Barcelona, Spain and help build the consensus for world peace,  while entertaining yourself with the simple and humerus communications of a man who can make the complex simple.  A man who as Walt Disney said, “would rather hope to entertain you with the hopes of educating rather then educate you with the hopes of entertaining.

Each video is about an hour long. I recommend you watch it while on a treadmill, exercise bike etc. Do an hour at a time. You will expand both your mind and your health.  If you are a man, we always communicate best while moving, at least according to Dr John Gray in “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus.

There Is No Right Or Wrong, Just The Greed Of “Leadership”!

Seen in the picture below, is terrorism’s new face. It is described by one of my favorite reporters,  Vicky Nanjappa, in his article Lashkar, ISIS and the Chechen Terrorists and deserves careful scrutiny. Vicky describes the new face of a potential World Of United Terrorism, partially thanks to Obama’s support of terrorism by his poorly timed withdrawal  creating chaos.  And this chaos resulting in the destruction of all America’s solider’s have fought to achieve over 13 years of fighting,  an opportunity for freedom in the Middle East.  George Bush surely read Natan Sharanky’s book The Case For Democracy: The Power Of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny And Terror; Obama either doesn’t read much or has another agenda.

WHO IS RIGHT?  Who is Right and who is Wrong in this world wide battle between Freedom and the Caliphate of Islam?  In my opinion, we all know the answer, if we look inward.  It is those who look outward, with visions of power and greed that know only one word, War!  Most great leaders, who had faith in God, said look within to find God and his truth.  If you do so, you will recognize that we are all human and as such imperfect.  You will recognize that the word of any “prophet”  could only be the best impression an imperfect person could share.  You will recognized that you don’t want to kill your neighbor; you want to live in peace. You will recognize that there is enough bounty to enrich the lives of every person on Earth and care for the planet, if the goal was to do so. You will recognize that all the systems of religion and government are there for the powerful, cruel, and greedy whose “genius” is to lead others to slaughter their neighbors so the leaders might achieve their visions.  The ONLY truth is simple, “love thy neighbor.”   If instead of accumulating money, we were to accumulate “gold stars” for each person we helped in our life’s journey as a businessman, doctor, lawyer, politician or ditch digger, it would be a better world!  What do we really need?  Do we need to own an Island and a Jet?   Is it not better to have happiness and reap the joy of the seeds we have sowed by creating the only value that has meaning, the enriched lives of others and the planet?

Why do Americans,  in a recent survey,  prefer Cockroaches to Congressmen in their homes?   It is because in our hearts we know the truth about leadership, all of it!

There is a simple answer to all our problems but we have killed our neighbors in its denial for thousands of years.  That answer is that the truth is within a heart that loves his neighbor as his self.   Words spoken by many religious leaders but denied in their “practice of religion itself!”

So,  who is right and who is wrong?   Should we have a Caliphate or Freedom? The answer is simple, there is No Answer from outside only from within.  If you follow ANY teaching,  Islamic, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Communist, Republican,  Democratic, Kingdom ….. You are looking outside for a leader who will draw boundaries in the sand and lead you to war.

If humanity and the Earth are to survive,  it is time to recognize that if God is all powerful he will speak to our hearts when we turn inward without the teachings and messages of “leaders”  who are always, in my opinion, false prophets.  There is one truth only, Love Thy Neighbor As Thy Self,  after all we are all children of God and by so doing, prove our love for God.

The world “Leadership”, as we know it  historically,  needs to be redefined. You see, if there are no boundaries we call MINE and not YOURS,  then there is no place to lead to and no need for leaders.   Leaders don’t lead us to success they lead us to protect our imagined wealth and another’s hoped for poverty. They do not lead us to greatness, they lead us to war, death and division.

When we learn to live united as God’s People, without leaders and shun them as much as we have shunned “false prophets” then we will possibly find truth. Then the  Caliphate, ISIS and the Chechen Terrorists  will be as meaningless as any other flag rallying for the death of its neighbor.  We need to erase all these imagined boundaries, recognize humanity and Earth, turn inward with love and share the resultant joy and prosperity.  It is a simple vision but a difficult task because leaders get in the way.

What Is Libertarianism?

This interesting article shares a bit of that viewpoint..libertarianism. My big question, still unanswered about Libertarianism is how do you govern “for all” without some form of agreed upon compromise? It seems at first glance, in most forms of government (1),  that we all must give some of our freedom to get cooperation that benefits us in time of crisis? If you look back on the natural order of human evolution, it seems that to survive, we as cavemen (Like Dogs) grouped into “packs” and hunted together for our mutual survival.  We also did so to protect ourselves from competing and war like cavemen. There was likely no “option” to decide if you would join in protecting your wives and children. Libertarian-leade-2-300x300Those groups with “options” died out quickly negotiating their freedom’s while their heads were broken by those more decisive and organized (with some agreed upon coercion)! It has therefore been my contention, that Libertarianists cannot govern because government at its most basic means coming together to act when needed whether we feel like it or not, agreed upon coercion. It means giving up some freedoms of the individual for the survival of the group. It is not perfect for sure but it creates function. I have yet to hear a compelling argument showing us all how Libertarianism can do the same.  Not to say I would not love to!  I am challenging all Libertarianism followers to post one here for that very purpose.

However, back to another view of Libertarianism and what it is not!   So here is Eric’s article”
What Libertarianism isn’t . . .
by eric • July 5, 2014
Just when you think you’ve heard (and read) it all, something like this falls into your lap. It’s a Bloomberg News critique of Libertarianism that equates it with – of all things! – communism.Libertarian lead

It dances on – at great length – without ever once mentioning the defining ethical principle of Libertarianism, the non-aggression principle (NAP for short). The idea that it’s never right to use force first.

The reason for not mentioning the NAP, of course, is that the article – and its ridiculous assertions – falls on its face if the NAP is acknowledged.

Consider some snippets from this epic work of evasion and slander:

“Let’s start with some definitions. By radical libertarianism, we mean the ideology that holds that individual liberty trumps all other values. ”

This is the “do anything you please” shibboleth Libertarians constantly encounter when dealing with Libertarian critics, who are invariably authoritarian collectivists of one stripe or the other. When the Libertarian points out the fallacy – that Libertarians believe individuals have every right to do as they please, provided they cause no harm to others – the authoritarian collectivist will then pretend not to have heard or understood. And give you something like this:

“Radical libertarians would be great at destroying.“Libertarian 3

Which conveniently overlooks that bit about not harming others, the Libertarian Golden Rule.

The authors of the Bloomberg piece must argue something that Libertarians aren’t – setting up the proverbial straw man before knocking him down.

Ironically, these critics are always the aggressively violent ones.

For example:

“The alternative to this extremism is an evolving blend of freedom and cooperation.”

Italics added.

Libertarian readers are surely groaning along with me right about now. We favor voluntary cooperation. People such as the authors of Bloomberg rant always insist on cooperation – at gunpoint. Their “cooperation” is of a piece with Social Security “contributions,” Obamacare “markets” and DMV “customers.” What they cannot abide – but will never state honestly and openly – is the idea that people ought to be free to say no. To cooperate – or not. It is this freedom to choose that drives anti-Libertarians up the wall. The horrid, insufferable notion that their “plans” be contingent on the consent of those they wish to enlist.Libertarian leade 2

But wait, there’s more. How about this one?

“Radical libertarianism assumes that humans are wired only to be selfish… ”

Ah, the “selfish” smear. It’s as effective as calling someone a racist. Shuts ‘em right up, most of the time. But Libertarians aren’t afraid of it – nor will it shut them up. What the collectivists really mean when they use the term is – someone who would say no if he were free to do so. As in the case of taxation. It is “selfish” to object to being strong-armed into handing over one’s money for the benefit of random strangers, who are themselves not regarded as selfish for using violence (if only by proxy) to take the property of other people. It’s ok, apparently, to selflessly do others violence – but LIbertarians are bad selfish for daring to object to the violence done them and for wanting only to be left in peace and to leave others in peace.

Such is the mindset we’re dealing with.

The true colors begin to leach through the further down the piece you go:

“… eliminate the Internal Revenue Service and progressive taxation . . . “

Well, yes. Taxation, period, actually, But progressive taxation is particularly noxious. It is the idea that those who have more “owe” more. Which is like saying it’s ok to beat a healthy person more viciously than it is to beat a not-healthy person. Because the healthy person can take it better.Libertarian Clover

How about not beating anyone?

That’s the Libertarian horror. Stop it with the violence. Leave others be, if they’re not hurting you in some tangible way (not liking what others may be doing is not hurting you, incidentally).

” … programs that sustain a prosperous middle class are gutted.”

Translated: Wealth transfer and rent-seeking are boons. Which, of course, they are – to those on the receiving end. But what of those on the – uh – “giving” end?

“…we have to see that freedom isn’t simply the removal of encumbrance, or the ability to ignore inconvenient rules or limitations. ”

The only “limitation,” Clovers (I use this term as generic anti-honorific to refer to authoritarians) is the Libertarian ethical line in the sand: Don’t cause harm to others, or attempt to coerce them using violence or the threat of violence. Any “limitation” or “rule” that doesn’t comport with this standard – i.e., there’s no victim, no party harmed – is nothing more than an arbitrary construct and illegitimate on the face of it. No one – not the authors of this execrably dishonest piece especially – has the right to impose their little (and big) “limitations” and “rules” on other people. Because in order to do so, one must be willing to threaten to harm others – or actually harm them. And to claim a right to harm others – for whatever “public” or “social” good – is oxymoronic, a contradiction in terms. Good cannot be done by treating people badly. The only thing that can be done is exploiting or controlling some people for the benefit of others. This is the logic of the zero sum. I win – you lose. The balled fist, the gun pointed your way. The “or else” left unspoken behind every “request,” “plan” and “program” they trot out. Libertarian last

And they accuse us of being (pardon the language) “selfish” assholes!

The worst a Libertarian will ever do to you is not do anything to you. He might choose not to do business with you. Or rent to you. Or serve you. But you’d be free to seek out others to do business with. Or start a business yourself. Rent from another person – and so on. No violence would ever be done to you by a Libertarian. You’d free – and so would everyone else.

And that, friends, is the one thing anti-Libertarians dare not acknowledge. Must never address. Must evade, using all their smarmy demagoguery. For if they do acknowledge it, they’ve got no argument. No leg to stand on. Their violence is revealed, as contrasted with the non-violence of the Libertarian ideal.

Take heart from the pathetic shallowness of the “arguments” of our adversaries. They’ve got nothing – and they know it.

Throw it in the Woods?

(1)  A government is the system by which a state or community is governed.[1] In Commonwealth English, a government more narrowly refers to the particular executive in control of a state at a given time[2]—known in American English as an administration. In American English, governmentrefers to the larger system by which any state is organised.[3] Furthermore, government is occasionally used in English as a synonym for governance.
In the case of its broad associative definition, government normally consists of legislators, administrators, and arbitrators. Government is the means by which state policy is enforced, as well as the mechanism for determining the policy of the state. A form of government, or form of state governance, refers to the set of political systems and institutions that make up the organisation of a specific government.
Government of any kind currently affects every human activity in many important ways. For this reason, political scientists generally argue that government should not be studied by itself; but should be studied along with anthropologyeconomicshistoryphilosophyscience, andsociology.

I found this mind blowing.  I had no idea what Israel looked like.  After years of watching news about the wars and struggles,  I did not expect a country as beautiful as America.

CAIR – Sharia In America

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, (CAIR),  is a name you will hear on National Public Radio,  they are a sponsor.  CAIR  funds a “more accepting” viewpoint of Sharia in America; but do you want that for America, as an American?  Is this, as some fear,  another way for terrorists to chip away at America’s foundations and slowly destroy America?

CAIR claims to represent Islam in North America and to protect “Muslim civil rights” yet their is  proof that CAIR is supporting Islamic terrorists, and that CAIR was established in America by those who wish to harm our country while using our constitution for their protection.

A little history of CAIR:   Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBi) recorded evidence places CAIR founders Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad at a Philadelphia meeting of the radical Muslim Brotherhood’s “Palestine Committee.” According to the FBI, “all attendees in the meeting are Hamas members and sympathizers.” An Investigative Project on Terrorism report on the HLF trial reveals that FBI agent Lara Burns testified that CAIR’s Omar Ahmad was “a leader of the Palestinian committee”.

Quotes from Ahmad and Nihad at the Philadelphia Meeting:   Omar Ahmad  talking with with Shukri Abu Baker:

  • Baker: “I swear by Allah that war is deception,”…“We are fighting our enemy with a kind heart … Deceive, camouflage, pretend that you’re leaving while you’re walking that way. Deceive your enemy …”
  • Ahmad: “I agree with you. Like they say, politics is a completion of war”

It should be noted that in a 2003 deposition, Omar Ahmad stated that he “can’t recall attending this meeting”. Nihad Awad, also in a 2003 deposition, said he couldn’t remember if he attended the Philadelphia Meeting either, even though he was an active and vocal participant at the event. The FBI revealed that HLF paid the airline tickets and hotel bills for Omar Ahmad’s attendance of the Philadelphia meeting. The Holy Land Foundation also provided CAIR with a “donation” check for $5000 in October of 1994.

FIGHTING FOR SHARIA AGAINST AMERICAN LEGAL VALUES:  When 70% of Oklahoma’s citizens voted for a constitutional amendment to prevent what they saw as the destruction of the American Legal system,  CAIR filed suit!  The enacted Oklahoma amendment in part reads: “The courts shall not look to the legal precepts of other nations or cultures. Specifically, the courts shall not consider international law or sharia law.”

Muneer Awad, a Muslim who heads the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Oklahoma, sued to block the law, saying it violated his First Amendment rights.

Muslim Civil Rights?   Is CAIR fighting for Muslim Civil Rights or is it an attempt to overthrow the system that has made America,  what it is and what we value?   I believe that Muslims have the right to worship in freedom as we all do in America today.  After all,  they came here for the freedom we offered. I would fight for their freedoms as I would fight for ours.  On the other hand,  what they came here for IS HERE.  What they ran from IS STILL THERE.  Why fight to change the system you came here to enjoy and try to make it more like the one you ran from?

When the Spanish come to America,  from Mexico,  Guatemala,  Ecuador, etc. I am at first glance, offended that they do not seek to learn English and seek to cling to newspapers, TV and Radio stations that broadcast in Spanish.   I know a little about history and it has been a pattern of  Italians, Jews and Germans who came here earlier.  It took the next generation to break “free”  of the  language barriers and the cultural fears.   On the other hand,  these “foreigners”  did not choose to remake the legal system of our country to suit their religious laws.  They came here and struggled with combining the best of what they believed with the best of what we had to offer so they could live here in peace and prosperity.   We all benefited.

I have no doubt that there is a cultural richness we would lose without the coming contributions from  those of Islamic faith who are making America their home.  Undoubtedly it will in some way be a contribution of their experience with the best of their cultural heritage and perhaps some of what Sharia has to offer.  American’s are open to richness,  cultural diversity and the blessings of a multicultural society.  American’s however resent having someone use the courts and legal systems to force their values on America.   The way to win American’s to your side is

to prove the value of what you have;  Americans will adopt it on their own.  Americans are sold on things that work, not beaten into submission by a dictatorial system.  Similarly,  going to court to defeat the will of the people of Oklahoma, because you have the money and the “mouth-pieces” will create the backlash it has and should.

Should we  judge CAIR by its founding fathers?   It is certainly a concern for most of us.  I would rather judge my Islamic neighbors by they contributions to America. I would rather see my countrymen adopting the richness that our new neighbors bring to America because we see its value. At this point in its history,  I believe that CAIR is hurting more American Islamic followers  than it is helping.  Can those of moderate Islamic faith contribute to and become part of America.  We shall see. I don’t think it will be because of CAIR when they succeed.

In my story,  TIMELESS SEARCH,  Ibrahim is a major character who is  of  Arabic descent.   Ibrahim is a brilliant mathematician and student of Islamic Law.  He is very tall, powerful,  ethical and influential.  He is also part of the team that will determine the future of all life in out universe.

Ibrahim faces a challenge which many of us in America have to deal with when relating to Muslims,  he has to deal with what he has learned from Islamic Law, Sharia,  vs what is backbone of our American law and society,  the Judeo-Christian Heritage.

For those of you who have written to me and asked why I created Ibrahim;  I believe this  story could not exist without him.  Just as the story of the evolution of our world today will not be told without reference to Islam, so my story could not have existed,  without Ibrahim and Islam.

Many years ago,  I had the opportunity to know two brothers who were students of Islam,  much like my character, Ibrahim.   They had both memorized the Quaran and would frequently review it between them to keep in memory.  I asked them questions about the roots of the Islamic system of ethics (how it might compare to our 10 commandments)  but I was disappointed with the lack of a clear answer.   I have yet to receive one but hope to in the future.  In the meantime,  Ibrahim is my closest answer as he struggles with the challenge it has caused in my mind.   As an example of the dilemma  that Ibrahim had to face here is one question that arises:

Consider the law “Thou Shalt Not Murder!”

  • The 10 Commandments states:    Thou Shalt Not Murder
  • In the Quaran you may find:  “And do not kill anybody that Allah has prohibited except when you have a right to kill” (6:151)
Now I am not claiming any expertise in the Quaran so this is taken from Islamic sites that do claim to be authoritative.  The Judeo-Christian version also is careful not to say “thou shalt not kill”  but rather thou shalt not murder.  This is because to murder is premeditated and to kill may be defensive or accidental.   How we interpret this commandment is of great importance to how we survive as a civilized and spiritual people.

In my story,  TIMELESS SEARCH,  I take this question of  great importance one step further.   But I will leave that for you to discover in  TIMELESS SEARCH.

Communication Between Stars

In my writings you will find that planets, solar systems and galaxies speak to each other.  What does this mean?

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord.  ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways,  And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

In the Judeo-Christian Bible we are told that we cannot understand or speak to God because of  the lack of common ground, since we are so “small” by comparison.  There is greater truth in this than the words themselves speak.

What incredible egotism might make us think that we are the only things around that communicate in a meaningful manner?  Yet this belief is common today.  It is now well documented that some  of us see Auras,  can “read minds”, predict future outcomes,  even change future events, by just thinking about them.  This should be enough to make us wonder what other exotic forms of communication abound. On an apparently more mundane level,  we have recently learned that microbes that live in high flying clouds,  can determine if it will rain  or not.   How does this connect with with planets?  Start thinking about how our planet is full of living things (other than us) that are microscopic. All these things are in communication as science is learning.   For example,  when bacteria that can resist your immune system, get into your body,  they multiply to a large army and when they have amassed enough soldiers they SIGNAL each other and attack in unison!    Actually,  I think of them most often as a clean up crew that removes dead tissue you have created by abusing your body.  In any event, there is great communication between microbes.   Now imagine the incredible variety of microscopic living things that make up the Earth and begin to realize that the Earth is very much a living being, like you are.   If you still don’t believe that something made of a variety of microbes can be a “single” living thing then consider this;   you have 10x the number of bacterial cells in your body than your “own” cells.   Don’t you consider yourself to be  a “single” living being?

So lets take a quick re-cap of our discussion.  You are made of 10x as many “non-you” bacterial cells as “you” bacterial cells and you are also full of fluids and minerals (rock like substances).  The Earth is made of lots of cells,  minerals and fluids.  There is a strong similarity. Ok,  you take a swig on your bottle of  Bud Lite Lime and look at me and say,  “Yeah that’s all true but we have a nervous system that puts it all together …. I don’t see one for the Earth!”   I say,   “Great observation,  good point!” Now scientists think that the glob of fat and neurons in you head is where “YOU”  exist.  Not that they in any way can prove it.  They just notice that if you cut pieces out of the grey matter,  as in “ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST”  you behave differently.  I  buy that but not the conclusion.  It is just as reasonable to propose,  as I believe,  that the grey matter is the system that makes every cell in your body work together as a team but is in reality is also a connection between you and your spiritual self much as your phone connects you to a friend.  Still you say, “Yeah, all good and well but without those axons and dendrites connecting all the cells together to make you one you would be a blob of cells not a single being.”   Good point! Now we have to notice that when we get to “Higher” beings than us,  it is not all going to look the same.  After all a flesh and blood creature as big as the Earth would collapse under its own weigh and gravity!   So… big beings need different structures.   In this case the Earth has  a molten core and is build of solid rock and metallic substances ….etc.  Now as for a nervous system of neurons… it has got to be much more exotic and perhaps we cannot define it clearly.   This is because we cannot fathom its purpose!   And that is why my discussion started with the quote from Isaiah. However,  if you begin to think about it,  there are very clearly signs of coordinated functions.  This is what a nervous system does, coordinate different living parts to make it work as a whole.

Lets consider how some communications system might be  working as a whole for the Earth.  If one species gets too dominant,  another life form “appears” that helps keep its number down!  There is a homeostasis.  This is evident all over the world.  We just now are learning about how clouds are controlled by living microbes which very likely “signal” to each other.  We now know that there are very capable organisms living in the depth of the Earth at temperatures near boiling,  and they love radiation as much as you do Sun shine on the beach.   So the forces of life can be found all over the Earth at every point just like cells in your body.

Taking a second swig of Bud Light Lime, you say, “Yes,  I give in to the point that the Earth may be full of living cells at every point and that could work together as a living thing but,  I still don’t see the nervous system.”    Okay,  I understand,  it is not easy because we are talking about something so high above us on the scale of life that we cannot begin to imagine its functions and needs.   So lets take a bit of an imaginative look at communication.   There are an average of 100-200 lightening strikes every second on the Earth.  It is the rhythm of these energy releases that stimulate and affect living beings… including YOU!  In 1952 the physicist Dr. Schumann discovered that the space between the Earth and the Ionosphere created a cavity that resonated like a musical instrument. Electrical energy which is produced by lightning strikes in the earth’s atmosphere constantly generate vibrations which bounce off  the Earth’s Resonant Cavity and generate electromagnetic waves. These energy waves are produced by electrical activity in the atmosphere bouncing off the Earth.  Every second hundreds of lightning strikes hit the Earth. These lightening strikes create the Earth’s resonating cavity.  This is much like the resonance in your brain when it is functioning at an ideal level; and there is a strong connection!  Much like a tuning fork, the planet Earth has natural frequencies, and they are called “Schumann Resonances”.    Schumann discovered that this electromagnetic field oscillates at a resonant frequency of 7 to 10 beats per second. The highest-intensity waves of the Schumann Resonance occur at a frequency of 7.83 Hz.  This frequency is identical to that of human brain waves! Does the Earth have axons and dendrites?  Not in the sense that we do but there is a system of electrical resonance that you now know of,  that actually drives your brain function and it comes from lightening.  The Earth is talking directly to your head… and you are listening at a higher level.  In addition we know that microbes can signal each other with chemical signals and likely electrical ones.   The Earth can and does respond to changes in its environment,  by the over population of one species or another.   Perhaps you are now noting that there just might be something to my short essay on the Earth Is Living.  But,  you say, “What would the Earth have to say if it can talk and who would it talk too?”

I will take you back to Isaiah and tell you that I am not exactly sure and don’t anticipate every knowing.  However,  there are lots of other planets out there to talk to and lots of other solar systems to have discussions with.   How would the words reach them,   would a sentence take a hundred years to speak as the Earth lives lots longer than we will and it just might speak much slower relatively speaking?  If you are beginning to have thoughts fill your head as you finish your Bud Lite lime and you want to know what this all might be like;  then I would encourage you to read,  Timeless Search,  by your’s truly.    Oh yeah,  and there is a coming book,  The Carnneeg,  that will deal more with this topic.  Yes they are sci-fi but as John Lennon said, “If you can dream it,  it is reality!”
