Audio Micro contract explanation.

Ticket #49241: AudioMicro – Contact us

Jack Galliano, May 6, 11:55 AM:Hey Joe!

Thanks for the response there, and sorry for the puzzlement! Samples are not included in digital downloads, it would only count sold downloads of the entire book. Only what you make money from in sales would be counted.

The license technically covers 1,000 sales of the product, whether its in digital form or hard copy, like a DVD or CD. Since, normally, a hard copy of a book isn’t going to include music, you wouldn’t need to worry about sales of a physical book.

I’ve just started really listening to audio books. Congrats, that’s a really exciting endeavor. Let me know if you have any other questions or I can be helpful at all. I’m happy to help! Cheers.

All the best,

Jack

Drjosephross, May 5, 6:20 PM:HI Jack,
Thanks for your reply. I am still a bit puzzled though as to what constitutes a download and how we account for it. When an ebook store sells my audio book, I can certainly get this count and pay appropriate fees to your company. However, if shoppers sample my books (they are allowed 20%) and don’t buy, does that also constitute a fee I must pay too? I get no fee for sampling and so am not sure I would be comfortable with paying for that.

Would you be kind enough to clarify this question?

Thanks

Joe

Jack Galliano, May 5, 5:00 PM:
Hi Joseph,

In order to use music from our site on your audiobook, you would need to obtain a Standard License which would cover your usage up to 1,000 downloads. Anything beyond 1,000 downloads would require you to upgrade your license to the 10,000 max level. At any time, you can purchase the highest (unlimited downloads) license, or you can add on as you need. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I’m happy to help. Cheers!

All the best,

Jack

Send inquiry: I am interested in converting some of my ebooks to audio books. In so doing I understand that I would purchase a $49.00 license but then have to purchase a larger one if my audio book sales exceeded 1,000 copies. My question is: Audio books may be listened to in part (sampled) on-line and downloaded in part as samples. Would I pay for the increased cost on SOLD items or just sampled items? How do we document this to each others satisfaction? Thanks, Joe PS: This quote below, is the rules that apply yes? IE: Mass Reproduction license prices: The standard license price of $49.95 plus $100 for up to 10,000 reproductions The standard license price of $49.95 plus $250 for unlimited reproductions
